CruiseWorld is launching a new Hosted Program to its upcoming November event. The program will give a variety of agents with different business models, experience levels and clientele the opportunity to meet with suppliers through pre-scheduled, one-on-one meetings, network during lunch and breakfast, connect during the Exhibitor Showcase, and share ideas during educational sessions.
The 300 agents who are selected for the program will be assigned one of three categories:
Established: Accomplished professionals with proven sales and loyal customer base

Promising: Less than 3 years experience, with emphasis on building their business

Royal Princess to Visit CruiseWorld!
Travel agents attending Travel Weekly’s CruiseWorld will have an opportunity to board and inspect the Royal Princess early in its maiden North American season. Tours of Princess Cruises’ newest ship will be available to registered attendees and will take place on Sunday, November 10 in Fort Lauderdale.
The ship, which was christened by the Duchess of Cambridge in Southampton on June 13, has been on a Grand Mediterranean itinerary since the naming, but will be repositioning to sail out of Fort Lauderdale for the coming season 10 days prior to the opening of CruiseWorld.
CruiseWorld attendees who sign up will receive a guided tour of the ship by field sales representatives, and have lunch aboard the ship. Agents will visit the Piazza Atrium, which 50% larger than any other atrium across the fleet. The Lotus Spa, which is just off the atrium, will also be toured, as will the Sanctuary, a premium adults-only area featuring private bungalows and premium food and beverage offerings. CruiseWorld guests who come onboard will be shown the studio where “Princess Live” shows are recorded, including a morning show, interactive games and quiz shows.
Spots on the inspection are available on a first-come, first-serve basis to registered attendees.

Arnold Donald, Richard Fain and Kevin Sheehan — CEOs of three companies that represent 80% of global cruise inventory — have been confirmed as speakers at Travel Weekly’s CruiseWorld 2013, Nov. 6 10 at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention Center. Each executive will open a general session with a keynote speech, followed by an on-stage conversation with Travel Weekly's editor-in-chief, Arnie Weissmann. It will be the industry debut for Donald, who became CEO of Carnival Corp. on July 3. He has executive responsibility for 10 brands — including Carnival, Princess, Holland America, Costa, Cunard and Seabourn — that represent more than 48% of the global market. He will be the speaker on Nov. 6. On Nov. 7, delegates will hear from Fain, who has been at the helm of Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines as CEO and chairman for 25 years. He oversees Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity, Azamara and two lines targeting European markets. RCCL accounts for over 23% of the marketplace worldwide. Sheehan, CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line, will speak on Nov. 8. Sheehan has increased Norwegian's global market share to close to 8% in the five years that he has been in charge.
The three executives have been asked to share insights about major issues, challenges and opportunities facing the cruise industry. After their speeches, they will sit down with Weissmann for a deeper dive into where the industry, and their companies, are heading.
In addition to the general sessions, CruiseWorld 2013 offers seminars, workshops and networking events designed to help travel agents grow their businesses and increase profitability. Legal issues, new products and business tools, niche markets, social media strategies and case studies from successful agents will also be featured. Attendees at Travel Weekly's CruiseWorld will have the opportunity to preview the Norwegian Breakaway with a full day excursion from Fort Lauderdale to Port Canaveral to tour and enjoy dinner. The Breakaway, which entered service in May, is one of a dozen different ship inspections available during this year’s event. Interested agents should register soon to secure a place. Inspections are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Other ships include Carnival's Breeze Freedom and Glory; Holland America Line's Nieuw Amsterdam and Westerdam; Norwegian Cruise Line's Epic, Star and Sun; and Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas and Oasis of the Seas.
Travel Weekly’s CruiseWorld will include a focused three-day conference agenda, three days of ship inspections and a full day of trade show at the Exhibitor Showcase. The event will also feature the Travel Weekly Think Tank event and other networking opportunities.
